2024 to 2025
Director of Engineering, Files.com
Ran the engineering organization: backend, frontend, infrastructure, QA, and security. Eighteen engineers and four managers, on a platform handling hundreds of millions of API calls a day at petabyte scale. Also led the acquisition integration, unifying two codebases and DevOps pipelines and moving every acquired customer onto the main platform without a service interruption.
2023 to 2024
Engineering Manager, Files.com
Managed the team responsible for integrations, protocol support, and the client SDKs, and triaged incoming bug bounty reports.
2019 to 2022
Lead Solution Architect, DevOps and DevSecOps, CenterGrid
Led the DevOps and DevSecOps practice, running cloud security reviews, cloud migrations, and remediation for Fortune 500 clients across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
2018 to 2019
Director of Software Development, DISCUS Software
Owned development of industrial inspection software, including the rewrite from Swing to JavaFX.
2014 to 2018
Senior Systems Engineer, Files.com, then Action Verb
Built and ran protocol proxy infrastructure, handled security triage, and helped hire the team that came after.
2003 to 2014
CIO and co-founder, Omnispear
Co-founded the firm and grew it from two people to fifteen over eleven years, hiring and managing staff while still building the systems: CRMs, background check platforms, and loan origination systems. This is where I learned what a consulting engagement actually owes a client.
